Popped into vets for wormers today and asked about getting Bob castrated, was quite suprised at the cost - £117 (as long as he stays under 10kg) It has been a long time since i had a dog castrated...is this the usual price? Poor boy will be done next month....not told him yet, poor boy!

Erm, I'm in a different country but mine was around the £70-80 mark for a 40kg dog! And my vets would be considered expensive.

The total bill was over £500 because he had a stack of other stuff done so I can't blow about it.....

Got to admit i had figure of about £70 in my head but it has been a long time, my cat was only £30 last year (do realise there would be big difference between dogs and cats)
Have warned Bob he will be on strct diet in the week leading up to op....he is currently 8.3kg!

You can get it done here in NI for £20, male or female, as long as you're on some sort of benefits. Cats are only £5 under the same scheme, its been running a few years now!

I live on my own, have no children and work fulltime.......maybe i ought to give up work, might be better off!

As you know, N, I've just had Harvey done. His bill was £82 including the five day course of preventative antibiotics upon discharge.

Fabulous purse stitch wound meant no Elizabethan collar as there were no stitches he could "get at".

Our cat, that was done a few months ago, was £38.

Oldashthearab, we don't qualify for that scheme, but the vets are quite happy to let customers use their mother/father's name as owner, as pensioners qualify :). Is there nothing like this where you are?
