Cost of castration?

I paid £335.79 in June to have mine gelded. That is everything, call out, sedation, the castration, tetanus jab etc..

Might be cheaper to see if your vets hold gelding days if you have your own transport to take him down there.

Thanks I definately need to quiz my vets, i will definately ask about gelding days, as i do have transport!

I had a yearling (17mo) and a 2yo (30mo) castrated recently. £272 for the first and £217.83 for the second, including VAT each time. They have a virtual monopoly up here but have to travel 30 miles each way.

It depends on size (for drug requirement) and method. My vet knocks them out in the field - and it costs from £120 -200 (+VAT) depending on size and how much ele he is doing (to share the visit fee.)

He won't do complicated ones (retained testicle) - I've only had one of those and he was about £850 at my consultant vets.
