My old horse is being PTS at 2pm today, my parents have offered to pay for his new owner to have him cremated (she's a family friend who took him on for us), but i've been told its just over 1k which is too much to ask from my parents, anyone know if thats right? Thanks

it depends if you are having a group or seperate cremation. group i think is about £500, indiviual about £1000

£350 for a 12.2 indiv crem and collection, ashes returned in a casket. Feb this year.

If you just ahve a token amount of ashes back rather that the lot it is cheaper.

Def think you can get it cheaper than that. I don't recall seeing any cremation bills quite that high (on claims).

He's a 16.1hh ID, spoken to the YO and she reckons its definately just over 1k, too late to be finding somewhere to do it cheaper as he has to be PTS today. Thanks all though. x

I think it depends on the weight of your pony.

I think it is about £1k for an individual - depending on weight.

We have always used www.elysianfields.co.uk for 2 cats and when the time comes for my horse, but I hope that wont be for a very very very very very very long time.

I am so sorry and my thoughts are with you.

Mine was an individual one, it cost £600 and we got a lovely (if you could call it lovely) box, with her polished shoes, a name plate and a plait of mane and tail. I hope you're coping ok, and her current owner is too, its very difficult. my girl died 2 1/2 yrs ago and I still miss her so much...

ss for your loss.

mine was pts 2006 xmas eve.

i didnt get her cremated.
but i did ask when i took my dog about a month ago how much it would of been for my horse.
he said he did not have to correct size but i would imagine he said a horse that size would be approx £900.

i think also it depends were you live

some of the posts are varied in price..

dont give up hope even though today is the day.give people a ring..
good luck and ss once again for your loss xxx

Mine were £ 600 each, but I decided not to have the nice box as I was going to scatter them (both are still in my front room

I used a company called Equine Farewells who provide a nationwide service.

I am so sorry for your loss.
