As above really!

How much do you pay for a full service on your trailer?

How often do you personally choose to get it done? Do you choose to get it done based on how often you use it or get it done say every year as standard?

I'm thinking about getting my (almost) year old Bateson trailer booked in for its first service, but have done very little milage with it (ie 10-15time, 30ish min journey) & it is always stored under cover. So to those in the know should I be looking to get it seviced now?

If so, where would you recommend I book it in in the Yorkshire area?

Thank you very much!!

Did you buy it new? If so take it back to where you bought it from. I would ask them about how often they would recommend it be serviced!! Not having an engine I would have thought (if it was new then it shouldn't need servicing yet). But I'm sure someone will not agree:confused::D;)

I paid £40 back in March for my Ifor 505 to be done by my regular Land Rover mechanic/MOT tester. His wife is horsey, he has always sorted out her lorries and trailers, definitely knows what he is doing. He washed it too, it went away with a green roof and came back immaculate, so I got very good value for money!
Anyway, there was nothing wrong with it, just needed a bit of greasing done. It hadn't been serviced for six years, when it had a big refurb inluding new floor done. I do use it regularly, probably minimum of once a week. Clearly I can and do keep an eye on things like light bulbs, brakes, anything obviously broken or not working and there was nothing giving any cause for concern.

The IW dealership quoted £100 (as a special offer) to service it... Either go back to your local dealer, or find one of those trailer places to do it, like Towsure or some kind of caravan dealer. They are fairly straightforward to do, not like they need computer diagnostics or anything like that.

Hi, I am in Harrogate, have my trailer serviced every 12 months regardless of how little its done. I have taken it to Swillington trailers Ifor williams dealer near leeds, they are very very thorough, But its about 175 pounds + parts. This year I took it to the garage that does my car after i checked they could do it. It was about 80 pounds.
I have also in the past had it done by a friend of a friend and whilst it was very cheap, the hinges etc hadn't been lubricated and none of the closures checked, so i guess you get what you pay for.
As your other reply said try the garage you bought it from. They should be able to give you a quote and you can ask what they actually do.

thank you for your replies!
I did buy it from new & can definately get it done where I bought it from, but thought I'd ask for recommendations anyway!
I'm mainly unsure as to if I'm being a bit premature in getting it serviced as it has done so little & i'm very careful in looking after it (ie stored under cover, cleaned out after every use (luckily horses dont seem to pee in it!)). Will have a think & maybe leave it a bit longer as I'm hoping to use it more over the summer now the horse is going well!
