Cost of gelding a shetland

Just wondering approx prices of gelding an 11 month old shetland colt?

I have been quoted £250 all in (drugs, call out, castration) provided there are no complications.
Cheaper for the bigger ones as they can be gelded standing. Shets are too small to geld standing (or so my vet says) and require "knocking out"for the deed.

We were charged £80.00 each to have two done on the same visit same time, was a couple of years ago.

I rang my vet for a qoute last week and they said to do him standing if i take him in £130. If he has to go down £220.

It cost me £250 to have mine done nearly 2 years ago, pretty sure they had him down as he was a midget back then and the vet couldnt see even when he was kneeling on the floor!!

Down here its £130, vet comes out, does what hes gotta do or the other vets charge £230 plus the stable fees.

If its a standard shetland they can be done standing. If mini then probably not. I paid £250 for a standing castration last year.
