Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to pay a dealer to sell a horse for me. How long they wold keep it for before selling, cost of livery and what % they would take for selling.
cannot speak from experience but I would have thought it would depend on the dealer and I expect livery etc would range vastly on what area you where in. Sorry im not much help am I?
Some dealers will charge a sales livery, depending on where you are would usually be upwards of £100 a week. Others may do it purely on a comission basis. Get any agreement in writing.....!
Mine is in sales livery in Berks costing £150 all inclusive plus a sales fee of 10%. Expensive but she is good. Except that he isn't doing anything in the snow, apart from eating.
Normally about £150 a week and 10% of sale.
Though if you go to a pro who already knows your horse they might not require it to be resident with them- i.e. they will just keep it in mind for clients coming in and maybe have you bring it over when suitable people are coming. Depends on the horse and how well you know the person doing the selling for you
We paid livery - and 10% of the sale (and luckily the person selling him for us actually found us a suitable buyer who she knew, as home was important to us - so it all worked very well.)
£100 a wk plus 10% fully inc with a fully formulated sales plan prior to horse's arrival. (eg week acclimatising, 2 week advertising, wk getting vetted)
