i have recently moved my horse to a new yard and found out the farrier there only charges £65 for a full set of shoes whereas my previous farrier charged £85. Just wondered how much everybody else pays?:)

Only £65????!!!

I pay £65 for a new set, £55 for a refit. £20 for a trim without shoeing.

£85?? Holy mother of....

I pay £64 a set including road nails, and £25 to trim my barefoot Newfie.

i pay £65... i used to have a farrier about a year ago who charged £110 :O and it wasnt even that good and i couldnt afford £220 for 2 horses that would be rediculus!

£80 full set, £1.25 each for road nails, £1 for each stud hole, so just paid £93. Excellent farrier though so wouldn't change.

My horses aren't shod at the moment but the farrier that trims them (£20 for trim) is £75 a set. There are farriers in the area that charge £85 and some that charge £60. The £60 guy I know of is SHOCKING! He really shouldn't be allowed to shoe horses. But enough people are clueless or don't care for him to have plenty work.

£50 full new set and £20 for a trim now!! Brilliant farrier. Sister pays £60 with another.

Mind you bacon sandwiches etc provided too!!!

£75 for mine but he made them, he refuses to use the ones you can buy which means he has to make them the night before which is quite a lot of his time.

£50 for a refit £55 for full new set with road nails, £1 per stud hole if needed. Not gone up for a few years because there are so many farriers round here I think!

I've just paid £165.00 for two sets of shoes, one set with 4 stud holes and two road nails (inc VAT)A basic set is £65 + vat. I too have a brilliant farrier and wouldn't change. There are far more expensive ones in Hampshire!

£140 a set now but he is in bar shoes in front with gel in ;)! Normal behind! Normal set is £70 and thats pretty normal, every farrier apart from 2 I know around here (I know a lot) charge that :)
