Cost of shoes in Surrey?

Got a friend who has just bought a horse and wants him shod, but my farrier is very expensive for shoes (£75 plus travel at £16), so I said I'd ask on here for recommendations. She's in Dorking and the pony is shod standard rims.

Any recommendations?

I pay £69 in Dorking, but I am not sure my farrier wants any new customers. I pay £25 for a trim and nothing extra for travelling to do one horse.
 
Wow your farriers are very expensive :o is that the normal there then?

Mine is £55 for a full set and he doesn't charge travel. I think thats the norm for around here though.
 
I use Tom Stevens, Jake Gregory and David East. Tom is £60 for a set, i don't knnow about the others for a set, but they're all £20-25 for a trim so i imagine they will be around the £60-70 mark for a set. None of them charge me callout, but they are usually doing more than one when they come out. (3 horses at 3 different yards, hence 3 farriers)
 
So glad I moved to Devon it's £10 down here for a trim was paying £25 back home in Surrey!

Try Peter Gledhill 07876 214496, not sure how far away from you he is, think he's around Guildford so would come to Dorking - Reliable as you like and always answers his phone or gets back to you as soon as! I only had trims so not sure how much a full set would be...
