Hi all

Im looking to have some new stables made, I want a little block of two stables attatched, 2x 24 foot in length and around ten - twelve foot in width.

Any advice on the approximate cost of building these ourselves and any approximate price I can expect to pay or that you payed would be greatfully received.

Impossible to say how much....depends on the materials used. Wooden stables, concrete block, mixture of both, brick? Draw up some plans & then decide what you want them made from. Get your self a catalogue from a builders merchants, this will give you prices of most of your materials. You will then be able to cost up the job.

Before you order stable doors/ frames from recognised Equestrian outlets try speaking with a local carpenter, you'll probably find he will be able to supply exactly what you want alot cheaper. You will however need to explain exactly what you want as his equine knowledge will possibly be nil.

Good Luck

Ours are 'Windsor' which I think are on the budget end of the scale, but they're perfectly adequate. Not sure how much they are/were as they came with the house!

Just tagging on to what everyone else has said but if you wanted to keep the cost down i really recommend using old railway sleepers to build the stables in an american barn type setting - one of my rides has moved to a yard like this and it looks and is fantastic x

I have 3 12x12 towable stables they are very well made are very smart to look at. we have them on concrete base. they cost £1200 each. if you need a telephone number p.m me. and the best thing about them is that if things go pear shape (you never no) you can sell them.
