I'm VERY lucky in that I don't pay to hunt as I am doing a job!
Our Saturday cap is £60, Tuesdays £40 for visitors. Or if doing a few days but not a full season we have a 7 day card (don't know how much) Boxing Day I would asume be classed as a Saturday.
Boxing Day cap by etiquette should be for the Hunt staff though doubt full they get to see it all.....
Also I know one hunt that is greedy & takes cap for Huntstaff & also their usual cap!.....

Ummmm I think it is £80 here

Woa - I never realised hunts got that expensive!

I pay £35 but thats blood hounds. Or £15 for the meynell (I never pay full cap with meynell because get a pony club discount...)

Your best bet is to ring the hunt secretary or check on the card because all hunts vary.

In my post the prices were for visitors I don't know what members pay or pony club???
In the "old" days OH said when he was whip at some packs that they got given the caps by members of the field then their partners would have bin bags for them to empty their pockets of envelopes before setting off!! IMO I think it is abit of a cheek asking for 2 caps of people. As our New Years Day cap states on the card that it is for countryside alliance & they will only be asking for the 1????

Think our cap is a bit extra for boxing day, but it is the one day where evryone pays up regardless of thier agreements with the secretaries seeing as it's for hunt staff, but as we only have the one professional, kennel huntsman, and two meets, one from bramham and one for badsworth end, i cant see it being too much of a bad christmas bonus!

i think a guest day is £60 and a Visitors day is £80,

Discovered a few weeks ago that it would actually be cheaper for me to hunt with the cheshires than with my hunt!! (they only pay cap on certain days & have the same priced subs.... have considered defecting!! (but the numbers on a saturday put me off LOL!!)
