I am looking at a trailer, old bayhill or rice, not quite sure what it is.

Needs new front ramp, possibly new floor as looks like it is plywood, but good and strong. Needs a complete brakes overhaul.

Any idea how much?

Any idea who can do it in Hampshire, West Sussex?

Thanks

I should know this, I wrote it out for someone a couple of days ago:

Paint for the floor frame £100
Wood for floor £300
Aluminium for floor £400 Inc fitting
Four new gyres £80 each
Lights £100
Electrician £100
Brakes overhaul £200
Metal work (breach bars, etc.) about £200

They're a rough guide!

I think the plywood is about one inch thick, then the aluminium goes on top, then rubber mats on top of that. Nothing sealed as according to our trailer man, one nick and liquid will get in and it will start rotting and we won't know.

What's this liquid gold?
Wood for floor £300
Treated scaffold boards 50quid including 5 star wood treatment

Never seen aluminium in a trailer. Use Rubber matting like everyone else
Four new gyres £80 each
Go to blackcircles.com
Lights £100
Wire and connectors 15quid
Electrician £100
Don't need an electician for this simple job
Brakes overhaul £200
Easy job. the final adjustment is the important bit
Metal work (breach bars, etc.) about £200
One length of box section will do all metalwork requiements, assuming it needs any

I'm not saying you wouldn't get a very high standard job done, BUT there are other ways to do the job to keep the costs down. Those prices are very 'salty' all to money you could save you could spend on getting it grit blasted and have a decent paint job.

Hammerite. Three coats over the floor frame.

One inch plywood, as directed by trailer mechanic.

Goes over the wood to increase strength. Ours is a three horse trailer. Rubber matting will go on top.

Van (weight rated) tyres; our trailer has quite big wheels.

New lights front, back, sides and inside.

Running entire set of new lights (see above), and know nothing about electrics.

The brakes weren't easy, inv.over a new unit (very old trailer).

Cost of metal, materials, and someone to cut/weld.
