For those that have done the B+E test can i ask how much it cost,by PM if you would prefer.I have got a couple of quotes but wanted to compare prices as the quotes i have seem a little steep.

Thanks.

Hi
The actual test price should not vary as it's a set price i thought. It's around £115.00 nowadays.

I paid about £25 per hour for my trailer lessons.

If you can find a mate who's got a trailer/truck to help give you some lessons somewhere private and safe. Clock up all the driving time you can do

Hi.Thanks for that.I have the Landy and trailer just need to get the practice in.Just trying to work out if it is cheaper to do the trailer test or go for the test where i can drive a 7.5t wagon.

I think my course was about £450 for three days! Quite a lot but very helpfull none the less, I doubt I would have passed without it. Mainly it is like an advanced driving test, so you have to be super observant and really know your stuff about the highway code, rights of way, lane positioning etc, the examiners are very picky. The actual trailer part is quite straightforward, reversing the only difficult bit so practise this lots, you have to reverse round an obstacle then into a space. Also when reversing to hitch up you are only allowed to check for straightness once, so practise this lots to make sure you are spot on with it! Good luck.

Hi, ive been quoted £550 from someone using my own car, which I had to get mirrors fitted, inc the test, and thats for a weeks crash course, or £800 using someone elses car and trailer.
I think there a massive rip off and I havn't done it, as long as ive got someone in the car with me that passed there test ages ago then im legal, and I always have, and I drive it better than my parents!

I'm doing both. Did my B + E last year and hoping to do my LGV test this year. Bear in mind that the lorry route will be more expensive not just for lessons but because you need to add another £50 on top for your theory side of it.
