Just wondering how much other people pay for their yard to turn horse out in field? The yard I'm on charge £2.50 to take horse out of stable and put in the field. If you require rugs to be put on/taken off or boots put on it is extra as well.

Opinions?

OMG! That's a lot!
I paid 50p with no rugchange, £1 with rugchange. The YO used to ask us to leave them in their turnouts overnight, so she didn't have to change any rugs.

£1.75, and I thought that was quite a lot. I left his turnout rug on as I had problems in the last yard with the leg straps not being done up and the rug slipping. Next winter will be different.

Our yard charges £2 to turn out & £2 to bring in if needed. Extra for rug changes, but it's only like an extra 50p & if you want your horse done all day so turned out, bought in & mucked out it's £7

£2 inc rug changes, feet picked out and brought in or out. Very reasonable considering our fields are a long way from the yard.

Interesting how yards differ. This would be another £2.50 to bring in again...almost makes it too expensive to turn out! Need to work out if the extra journey in the car to turn him out myself would cost less than £2.50...

Ours is £3.50 to turn out and £5 (!!!) to bring in including rug change. Tbh I think its high to persuade us to do it ourselves, arrange swaps etc

The last yard I was on it was £2.50 to turn out or bring in. I had 2 that went in and out together and so would cost £10 which was expensive frankly! Fortunately I rarely needed them to do it.

£1.50 per horse per turn out or bring in.
50p for a rug change (per rug!)
50p to chuck a ready made feed over the door
50p to tie up a ready made haynet
£5 to hold your horse for the farrier/vet
£2 for a skip out
£5 to muck out
£1 to wash off muddy legs
£1 to fill a bucket of water from the house if the yard taps are frozen
£5 for an hour in the indoor school
£3.50 to use the jumping paddock
£9 a week to keep your trailer at the yard

All prices (apart from the school use and trailer fees) are double at the weekends.

However our yard charges £26.50 a week for DIY livery for everyone so you can cater your livery based on these prices so at least you get what you pay for and if you don't need for example the turnout charges in the summer, livery is cheaper.

Prob is we are not allowed to help each other. If we cannot do it then have to pay the yard.

Is that actually the y/o rule? Only wondering as where I am the girls who do the services said we weren't allowed to help each other but when y/o found out she was not happy as it isn't a rule!

The yard up from mine is £2 to put out. £2 to bring back in.
And with that they only get about 4 hours turnout- max!

I'm just 400 yards down from there, on my lovely little yard with only one other livery, and I have turnout out when I want, where I want, whenever I want.
Too put out my yard charges... the whole cost of fresh air!

£1.50 for one or £2 for two horses to same field B/I or T/O. The only problem I found was they'd put out late and bring in early, some days he'd come in pretty much as soon as I'd left! In have now moved to 24/7 turnout- fab!

I have a girl on my yard who is on site all day every day - she charges the liveries £1 to bring in, check/change rug. We have no stables, so "bring in" means bringing the horse in to its designated tie up space, put up its haynet, check water and keep an eye

With all these extra charges it becomes very expensive if you need some assistance and use the facilities, most yards do not charge for using a school, except lights in the evenings. Charging for water is unbelievable, I must remember that one next time we have a freeze.;)

They must almost need a full time person keeping the books:eek:

Yard Ownercharges £3 to turnout/bring in and we are not allowed to help each other. Everything has to be done through the yo but she is really nice, kind to all the horses and is very honest. If she doesn't like something she tells you but is not aggressive so there is very little bitching on the yard.

I would rather have it that way than be on a cheaper yard where the yo was dominated by another livery owner who considered herself an expert and went around causing trouble.
