Hi, opinions please!

I’ve seen a great yard £100 full livery with 3 amazing schools, few liveries, good hacking and clinics on site, about 8 miles from home.
Current yard £55 assisted livery, but shocking school plus riding school so difficult to get in winter. Hacking good and close to home,
Who would chose what?
Im not a confident hacker x

Question is whether - to you - £45 a week plus an extra 40 minutes a day (assuming one trip) is worth access to good schools?

If you do loads of schooling and have spare cash - probably yes.
If you do mostly hacking and they both have good hacking I'd stay where you are - save the cash and have people you know already to hack with.

For me option 1 but that is because it would suit me!
Everyone is different and wants different things from a yard and livery. My comment is of no help lol.
Easy thing is to list pros and cons of each and see where you end up. The fact that you have looked for somewhere else does suggest that you are not 100% happy with current set up?..

I'm presuming the cost is per week so full livery would almost be double per month.

Are you struggling for time on Assisted DIY so looking for less jobs and more quality time with your horse? Do you have to pay any extra's at other yards? Is all other care equal? Are you sure you'll get the same winter turn out and the same amount of forage bedding at yard A as you do at yard B for example.

What do you want to do in the future? If taking part in clinics is important to you, then that might influence you. But, if there are lots of clinics will you always have a school available? You may end up in a similiar situation as you are now with limited access but you could end up riding twice as much as you are now.

I'd probably choose to stay at yard B as I'd never need three schools plus good hacking and friends to hack with is more important to me. I struggled with no school at a previous yard but wouldn't need a super fancy school(s) either. But that's just me :)

Dunno - £100 full livery seems a bit on the cheap side (certainly in my area it is). I pay more than that for one school and on a 30 livery plus yard. I would wonder how/why it's that cheap and with 3 schools, why so few liveries? Something doesn't add up?
Is the full livery yard all that's it's made out to be? Are the horses there looked after well? Is the bedding and feed plentiful?
Think you might have to do a bit more digging OP!!

i know you've said you're not a confident hacker, but is there anyone you could go out with to help you build your confidence?
and when you're confident enough, perhaps school on hacks? i used to take my old horses to the beach or the fields to school when we hacked out (i was very lucky to have such good hacking on my doorstep, i appreciate this isn't the same for everyone)

does the £55 on assisted include anything? if not, you've got hay, bedding and feed on top of that so the difference isn't as big as it looks. If generally you prefer to ride in a school then the 'new' yard seems more attractive.

I would wonder what sort of corners might be cut on £100/week given they have facilities like 3 schools. Eyes wide open and clever questioning if you go and look around.

I agree that £100 a week seems cheap for full livery, and 8 miles is not that far- depending on the roads that is likely to be less than 15 minutes in the car? If you don't like to hack then having schools available seems good, but I'm not sure if it's £45 extra a week good.

Is there an option C of part/assisted DIY on another yard with good facilities?
