Costs to run 4.5 ton horsebox

I am looking at buying at 4.5t Iveco daily and wanted experience of costs. Is road tax still £165 per year? I have a quote for insurance & breakdown for £418 which is for any driver over 25. I understand that it needs special MOT centre. Any info is useful

I have a 6.5 ton, but costs would be pretty much the same. My road tax is £165 per year, I think that my insurance and breakdown is around £380. It does have to go to a HGV mot garage. I think the MOT is around £90, but I usually have mine pre-checked by my lorry man and he takes it to MOT for me, so if it need nothing/little doing, probably at least £200.

And remember, the plating centers are very busy and can often have 3 month waiting lists - so book early!

3months! You are spoilt! I booked in December and only got offered 3 dates in June.

I sold my 7.5t a couple of years ago, sounds like it's got worse!
