Anybody have any reviews on the Shires Blenheim Snaffle Bridle or Cottage Craft Oxford Bridle?
Just want a nice quality snaffle that wont die in a matter of weeks With a budget £20-50, am I looking for the impossible? !
 
I use shires bridles but the salisbury range as its much better quality ( i have cavasson, flash and grackle versions ) and in australian nut which matches my saddles and has matching martingale,breastplate and girth and they were bought in 2009 and still going strong, they are used for everyday and competing even in the rain. Wouldnt buy anything else now.
 
like flaxen I am a Shires fan too. I have their bridles and rugs and other products. I think they are great often as good as, if not better than some higher priced makes.
 
Thank you both, unfortunately I really don't like the white stitching (on black) and shape of the Salisbury range, it just wouldn't suit my mare :(
Fairylights which style of bridle do you use if you don't mind me asking?
 
OP sorry I cant remember which name for the bridles. Only that they are black with buckles not billets the buckles are silver,the reins are rubber covered. I'm not sure if they make this style currently. I Also have a lovely girth which is fleece lined it seems comfortable for the horse and I am going to buy another for my youngster when I start to ride him too.
ETA The Aviemore is the nearest to mine.

Thank you all, think I will steer clear of Shires. The Cottage Craft one still seems okay. Am keeping an eye on ebay for gfs etc too as her current one is gfs and has lasted ages but now need a black bridle to match saddle!
 
I'm after a cob size but only assuming it is true to size as Kincade and Amigo have both been too tight but full seems too large in other makes
 
Buy a good quality 2nd hand 1 that's what i do for my work bridles :)

I've had my mares sabre for 3 years now & it still cleans up like new, got it 2nd hand for 30 off eBay! :)
 
I'm keeping an eye out for sabre, gfs, kate negus, collegiate, jefferies and albion on ebay ;) any others I should be on the look for? Do love a good ebay bargain
 
Keep an eye for Stuuben too, superb quality and the leather doesn't tend to stretch too much like other makes.
