We'll see. I'm friends with one of your masters (GM) and I'd like to visit but need to progress the new horse first before gallavanting about the Shires.
SpottyPony we were bloody late! Finally headed out about 1.25/1.30pm, doh! By the time we got to the later fences (out the back of Mr H's, as you came back to Flitteris) they were SO poached. Somehow we all came back with four shoes though! M looks knackered bless him so instead of his half scoop of Alfa A he got some beet pulp too I only clipped him this AM as an emergency as I suddenly thought 'eek the weather looks rather nice!'
No pics I'm afraid - it was great. If it's wet I'd defo recommend an early slot though if you can. Gates, small jumps (like, single rails 1ft!) and then some socking great hedges! Took about 1hr15/1hr30 to complete.
We went at a bit before 2pm. Ground was pretty bad tbh which was a shame, we even opted to park on road on verge to avoid getting towed out of parking as much smaller & lighter lorries were being towed. Glad they kept it going despite the obvious damage to fields, very kind of them. We avoided a couple of the big hedges as just didn't think the ground was good enough & didn't want to slip but jumped most I think as for the most part the bigger jumps had the best ground as had been jumped the least by the time we went . However we did lose someone on the last hedge! There were a fair amount of broken rails by the time we went too which possibly again as due to the ground, shame about the conditions not holding up as well as possible but we still had a good day out & glad the organisers ran . Will go back next year and advise it as a fun day out for everyone as nice to have 3 height jump options, you would need to go with a group with a good gate opener or someone good at remounting or might struggle though!
Yes went at 12.40 came up from norfolk was a brilliant ride with friends all jumped well and the hedges were brill. a lovely change didnt want to leave. very muddy in some places but use to that in norfolk !
TwoPair - yes the going was quite deep in places - I actually jumped most of the medium sized fences as the ground was worse in fromt of the small ones! No we didn't do any of the hedges, did you? I like to use the fun ride as a fun schooling session for a confidence boots for both of us for the start of the season and as we only jumped our first hedges at the end of last season, I decided to wait untl we get out hunting again properly for hedge hopping!
