my mare has coughed once or twice recently but it wasnt until the other day when i took her out in a rush and trotted her for the first 1/2mile,she had a coughing attach,anyway got off to check her mouth that she had no food stuck or blocking trachea and carried on. anyway walked a bit then trooted on more,went past a combine(very dusty) and got to river and another attack :/ . however she only seems to cough badly in trot! i cantered and she was fine(coz i was rushing) and she had one cough later then after that she was fine... Do you think it is cough or allergy??
