I have a standard Shetland that has had a cough for a number of years. She always coughs when I move the electric fence, but not when she is eating short grass. Over the years she has got slightly worse. She used not to cough when eating hay but does now, whether its soaked or not. Now she will sometimes cough when eating a carrot. She was scoped and had blood tests etc but nothing could be found. I wonder if she is lacking in saliva or has a tracheal collapse although she does not show any other signs of this being the problem. Exercise rarely makes her cough.
When she was first flu vaccinated she used to run a high temperature so she is not vaccinated now and I did wonder if that could have been the problem and started it off.
Has anyone had a similar problem.................
