My son's 3 year TB/Clydie has developed a cough. She looks fine otherwise, active, bright, but does have some mucous. Especially after she spend some time running around the paddock with the other horses. The cough does seem to be more often with exercise and not noticeable as she just grazes.
She is on 24/7 turnout, no dust, only grass/ no hay ATM. We are in Autumn, and not many flowers in paddock (some but not much).
I am concerned as from what I read on the net and after talking to vet - coughs can be tricky things. He has given antiobiotics to try for 5 days, and if no sign of improvement by Monday, i will take her down to surgery to have her scoped, and see what they suggest.
Any comments or suggestions - experiences with your horse coughing please let me know, anything that may be helpful.
