Vibes for you - hope its not - being in the middle of a tendon injury with my mare, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Lots of positive vibes for Thumpy

Everything crossed that it is not his suspensory...

All my vibes are coming over to you, not that they are that great though if I am honest

Thanks for the vibes folks (was thinking of you over the weekend Jetset - thinking I'll never tell you how to feel about your horse, and worrying about soundness etc. again..... Sorry).

Well vet has been - doesn't appear to be tendon or ligament - swelling I was concerned about has vanished - and there is no heat anywhere. Flexion was inconclussive, but he agreed that the horse was not 'right', although not lame.

So I've to continue working him and see how we go from there.

Thumpy was obviously very unhappy on Saturday when I rode, because he stood on his back legs and said 'no' - which is most unlike him. But will continue to work him and see what happens.

Will keep you all posted.

That is good news... could it be muscular perhaps?

[/ QUOTE ]
Possibly. Got him booked in for a looks see with a sports massage person...

We lost a horse at the yard this week due to a catastrophic injury - it was his field mate, and I just wonder if on the night that this other horse damaged himself if they weren't all hooning around like idiots - hence the injury to the other horse, and Thumpy's slight unlevelness.

Who knows eh? Bloomin horses.

It sounds as though that could be the cause... Could just be that he has tweaked a muscle and just not feeling quite back to normal yet.

Han slipped one year flying around like an idiot and was unlevel for a few weeks through a muscular injury (and she is as hard as nails

).

Hope he's feeling more himself soon and that it turns out to be something minor

[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks Yipster. I think it more than likely that he's knocked himself (now). I do like a little panic though. And had resigned myself to the fact that he'd done his suspensory ligament, and that he would spend the rest of his life as a field ornament.
