This may seem a silly question - but is it possible that a horse could slightly react to a flu and tet jab? My horse is quite a hot horse but in the last week since he had his jabs he has in the evening been quite hot and sweaty, without being ridden. He is now quite woolly even though he was clipped about a month ago so I have put him back in a slightly thinner rug and will monitor it, and it has got milder again - but I am a worrier and wondered whether this was possible? He seems to be himself and bright - am I just being paranoid??

id phone your vet and explain what is going on. I know with human flu jabs they warn you that you might get 'flu like' symptoms a couple of days after the jab. maybe its the same with horses, altho my vet has never said that to me.

My daughters ID x had his flu jab last wed 15th. Has had it many times before no problems. I noticed this week he was breathing faster than normal (about 25 breaths per minute). He is also sweating up a bit at night (he is stabled) but he does have a very thick coat(first time he has not been clipped) so I hope that is the cause. He is eating well. Vet was out on tues 21st looking at another animal and I asked him to have a look. He confirmed he was breathing fast but no temperature. Put it down to flu jab. Also advised worm him for lungworm as we have a donkey. It is now 9 days after
jab and still fast breathing but no other symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this ? My feeling is to give him the weekend and if no improvement by Monday get vet again.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
