Hi,

Just wanted your opinions on whether i could do showhunter classes with my horse.

He is 17.3hh 5yrs I know he will need more topline/condition before i can show him but he is competition fit at the moment.

Please be nice i want an honest opinion but i do love him!

I would think you could do showhunter on him he looks the type, (although surely not fat enough for showing?!

) from what I have seen in the classes, as have never done them myself.

Give it a go at a local show and see what reaction you get? you have nothing to lose and could be a good (if boring!) experience for a young horse.

Lovely horse BTW.....

He might be a little big for the show hunter class as they tend to be light hunters. You would do well in the weighted under saddle classes or maybe the worker.

Yes they are under saddle, looking at his bone he'd probably get into the middle weight hunter class. The heavy weights are supposed to carry over 15st (I think!) the middle weights between 12st and 15st as far as I can remember

Good lucj with the showing, if you need any advice on turn out or prep I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that can help.
