okay, first of all, you really really need to move your saddle back quite a bit, you and the saddle are perched almost on the horse's withers, which is making it hard for you to get your leg on, keep your balance, etc. when you saddle up, feel for the big muscle that runs down towards the floor just behind the horse's shoulder, and put the saddle behind that. it's really important. if you watch it, you look as if 2/3 of the horse at least is behind you, it should be 1/2! you should be able to see the whole withers clearly in front of the pommel, and i bet you can't at the moment.
the only other thing is that you should give a little bit more with your hands as the horse takes off, give it a little more freedom, this will matter more as the jumps get a bit bigger and the horse needs to stretch its neck forward in order to use itself. think of pushing your hands upwards towards its ears a bit, not dropping them down on the neck.
hope that helps a bit! video's not the best...!
I can't see the video very well but just wanted to say how lovely it is to hear a welsh accent! I am welsh and moved to Somerset 6 years ago. God I miss it! Welsh accents make me feel all wistful about home!
Cant see it very well, but definatly move the saddle back, and i wasnt sure but looked like your sticking your toes out a bit? Might just be the angle.
Pony looks nice and forward
Your position and balance doesnt look bad at all! just follow the advice on the saddle and its position while jumping (as you said someone else tacked the horse up) not meaning to be rude, but always check it! please upload another video soon, showing us how you are progressing, im also wanting to jump my new horse rusty, so would be nice to keep track of eachothers progress?
