........a full cheek french link with a flash as this has been a idea for my cob from a friend who has been riding him said he has been strong out hacking, he has been fine with me! Other ideas put forward was a roller D-ring or a kimblewick(not keen on that one!).....he does have a soft mouth so loathed to put him in anything else and does stop when asked, but, has been leaning and holding the bit (her words not mine!) ....any ideas! Thankies!

If he has been fine when you ride him then maybe your friend is not experienced enough to ride him. I would be weary about changing his bit. Why not watch your friend ride him and you assess the situation before you change anything.

Try a Waterford, that should help her against him leaning on her.

Using in a full cheek french link with a flash or even a grackle is fine. I have used this in the passed. What bit is he in at the moment. As this isn't a strong combination but I would try it.

H has soft mouth but leans very heavy - swapped to a waterford and works wonders

My friend is a good rider so that would not be the case and he does stop once out in front he will stop.....we have been making in different places when four of us ride out, to stop him taking up pole position!
