My pony was a little bit footsore today, he was sound 90% of the time but he felt footy on the stony paths more than usual. He wasnt sore in a particular foot either it seemed to be in both front feet.
He was shod on Wednesday after his feet had got very overgrown and the foot was growing over the shoe. I have had a lot of problems getting my farrier out recently hence why shoeing was overdue, i couldnt get any other farriers to come out to shoe him either (they get very booked up).
I am not very impressed with my farrier TBH as i think he puts the shoe on way too close to his frog, sometimes i cant get the hoofpick between shoe and frog! He also seems to do alot more of fitting foot to shoe rather that fitting shoe to foot. I am ringing around farriers at the moment in the hope of getting a different farrier.
i've tried searching for pics and descriptions of corns but im not having much luck, does anyone know where i could find a pic of a corn?
Do you think this is why he is a bit sore?
There doesnt seem to be any visable signs of anything inside or outside his feet, he has no heat or swelling in his feet or legs and no strong pulse.
any thoughts?
if he's still like it monday i think i'll get the vet to look at him.
