She was supposed to be riding a friends very safe, but very young pony today. Because of the weather he has not been ridden for a while so we decided against it for 'safty' reasons!!

Anyway long story short, they decided to get out their other horse, 16.3hh hunter type:eek:, I know he is perfectly safe as he also takes disabled people out, but I also know he has his moments, but she was determind she was getting on.


I comprmised by saiying she has to be lead from another horse, and she was fine with that.

Well ,,she did reslly well, her rising trot was lovely on him, considering she was doing the splits :D and the fact that she weighs nothing wet through, and he is used to quite hefty people on him, so not even sure if he knoew she was on him LOL

Sounds like my little lad, he is 7 and is in the habit of 'cooling off' his much older sisters 16.3 and his dads 17hh. He has already decided that when he is too big for for his 11hh pony his next horse will be his sisters:(

Aaah, little kids look so cute on giant horses! :D They always seem to love it too - at the riding school where I work we sometimes let the littlies ride a 15.2hh Welsh cob as a treat, and they adore him! In fact a lot of them have their first canter on him as he's so much smoother than the little ponies, although it does look funny with their little legs not reaching past the saddle flaps. :)
 
My son used to ride my 16.2 TB when he was only about 7, he hacked him out, jumped him and allsorts and never once came off him or felt afraid, he preferred him to his own 13hh naughty mare who often bucked him off, napped and generally misbehaved.
