When I came back from a weekend at camp with our Pheebs, Emma was really excited and started galloping and bucking around the field, since then both her fetlocks are very filled and swollen with heat in the morning but by the time she comes in from the field at night they are both normal and cool. She isn't lame but I'm getting really worried! She also gave herself an overreach that I am cleaning and putting antiseptic cream on twice daily, it is healing nicely. I can understand swelling on the leg with the cut both both?? Any suggestions or ideas would really help. How long would you leave it before getting the vet?
Thanks

If you are really worried then calling the vet sooner rather than later may put your mind at ease and reassure you.

In my experience there are often increases in heat when swelling is present - and with no lameness and the way the reduce following exercise it is unlikely to require emergency weekend call out, but a phone call to your own vet may be prudent.

I would be inclined to put on stable bandages at night in the interim and see if this helps a little
