Could someone advise please?[Fencing]

Hi - my question is:

Has anyone used Keepsafe Fencing and is the mesh spacing small enough to stop foal hooves from getting stuck ?

The plan is to use it in a small turnout area for when the paddocks are dangerous with mud, ice etc. I'm tempted to line the fenceline with chicken wire as has been suggested to me, so the foals can bounce off it, but I suspect the mares will soon tear that down.

Any advice please?

I saw this type of fencing in use at Kirklington Stud, something like 9 miles of fencing they mentioned !

I would imagine if somewhere like that uses the fencing it must be safe. they had a timber rail on the top with electric rope to stop chewing.

Snap! Saw it when we brought Kylian (I think) over from Ireland to them and thought the same. Many of the big studs use it too.

I was taken as a guest, to an Elite Racing afternoon, what a place and lovely people. I have been several times now and learnt a lot on each visit.

This fencing is terrific. Always use it with a top wooden rail though. Foals can't get their feet stuck in it. It's well worth investing in IMO

We use it on a 1200acre TB stud farm. Excellent stuff.

I worked at Kirtlington where they have it and thought it was really good. I have heard the odd horror story about it but then there is risk with any fencing IMO. It is one of the best solutions so would recommend it!

Dear God, I've just found out the price. For the mesh alone, it is £8 per metre. That doesn't include the posts, rails, and labour costs!
I think it may have to be the Tornado mesh and lined with chicken wire or similar!

I've got the anti climb netting, the holes on that are really quite small (smaller than tournado) and it is a little cheaper.
