Im looking into my mares history and found her sire has competed at the Scope 5 year old consolation class.

Sorry but having never competed in show jumping I dont know what this is, if my searches are right Scope Festival is a big showjumping competion?.

So what sort height would the consolation class be?, and why is it a consolation class?.

Her sire got 5th place, this is also the only competion record I can find for him so if anyone can give me any other ideas for information on him I would be grateful, can't even find a photo :(

Thank-you in advance for any answers and have a big steaming cup of green tea on me :)

Hi Scope run age classes for 4, 5 and 6yos. The 5yos jump around 1.15 1.20 track. The double clears go through to the final in the indoor arena and anyone who didn't jump the final gets a consolation class, similar to the qualifiers. The class numbers are usually in the hundreds so getting placed is good! Hope that helps.

The festival is basically run like a series of heats so even when you qualify you then have to jump another qualifier at the festival to get through to your respective final. Those that don't qualify for the final final get to jump in the consolation class. With my cynical hat on, it's just a way of extorting more money out of people once they have remortgaged their house to go to a show for 4 days!

Try all breeds pedigree website for horse details, type in any horses on breeding lines and you may find something. I think that if the horse qualifies for a particular class at scope the class is run and the top placed horses go to the championship finals later in the week whilst the bottom half compeate in consalation classes. This way it gives them a chance to do more than one round .
