Could someone please explain to me how tf breeding for stat mutations works?

Just got two level 185 lightning wyverns on Scorched, and wanted to try to breed them. I'm too much of an idiot to understand the multiple videos that people post out there, so I want a more simplified answer.

This is a horse forum and a horse breeding part of it, nothing to do with video games?

Try feeding them turmeric?
