Bit of a backwards question, but i am presuming Merlin could be shown as either a stallion or a gelding ?

As he hasn't been castrated but doesn't actually have any balls either? Neither bit has been signed by the vet on his passport!

Which class would he have to go in?

Thinking of maybe taking him to a few in hand shows next year

Proberbly if it hasn't been signed that he has been gelded if he is only 3 next year they are all in the same class anyway

you may get away with it at a local show but breed classes or society shows he would need a stallion licence and wouldnt be given one by any society ,he is definatley a stallion not a gelding .sorry wouldnt bother trying to show him

TBH, if hes entire, hes entire balls decended or not and i think it would be rather unfair to enter a class whereby he is meant to be a gelding, hoping you could get away with it - it could be putting yourself and other competitors at risk.
if i went into a class, which was for mares and geldings, with say a stroppy in season mare, i can imagine it could cause problems and i know my local RC would prob ban you!

as its not obvious he is entire, before entering any classes i'd mention it when you enter, that way it would also avoid a judge really having a damn good look down there for his bits etc!

He has no stallion tendancies at all. No trouble with mares, no bad behaviour no nothing! Thought he would have shown some sign by now, he is 2yo...

he is a colt then.
he will not be a stallion untill he is 4.

correct he may not of dropped them yet.

Personally I would not show him if he'd not dropped them even if he was 4 and over in a stallion class, it would be known as a fault in a breed class and the horse would get marked down.
