Could you go camping... On a campsite... In a horsebox... Without a horse?

Like on holiday? Or is that a completely stupid idea?

I went camping when I was about six in a borrowed motorhome and rather enjoyed it So I just wondered if you could go in a horse lorry, to a campsite with nothing to do with horses.

Don't see why not, it's no different to a motorhome.

Yes - I know lots of people that do it. But maybe it's just an NZ thing.

Yeah I would! It would be a nice upgrade - I usually end up sleeping in my car due to an inability to put up any tent.

When we went to Yorkshire to collect a pony, I tried to book a campsite halfway on the basis that my box is about the same size as a motorhome. It was surprisingly hard to find a site that would have us. Did find a little private site after about ten phone calls

Depends on the site as most horseboxes drop waste water on the floor, this is not allowed in caravans.

Find one that accepts motor homes and then phone them to Check before turning up. You may have to make a few calls before you find one that will have you.
