Hi
Am currently off competitions as am 71/2 mnths pregnant and have decided to keep Boris off work as i have the acreage at my parents place.

However in the Spring we are due to move to Oxfordshire where i would have to fork out for livery and I can't imagine being able to do much competing in the next few yrs as hubby will be away from home quite a bit.

Anyway he is at a good saleable age at the mo which makes me think that I may be better selling him now and getting a 2yr old to bring on later.

So his CV reads

9yrs, 16hh, black gelding, tbxcobxshire, homebred
BSJA £106 in 1 season as 5 yr old
BE Intro and PN last season
Hunted and done WH
BIG ugly ears but a great doer.
Pics in sig.

THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT as i need him to get me back into the saddle after having the baby and hormones dictate that horse should stay until springtime

. I just feel that horse prices in Wales differ greatly to those down country and so need to get an idea.

Many thanks

Dead easy in all ways. he is home bred and broken as a jumping horse so I can vouch that he has been brought on nicley etc and is good to deal with.

I am terrible at dressage and so that would need work - he can get anything between 45 and 38 in BE but he's not a head shaker just a bit hollow.

No problems jumping, the odd 4 faults but generally v clean.

Cheers Boss your opinion would be appreciated

If he is sensible and easy and is showing ability and consistency at intro/PN then imho he's worth his weight in gold and you could acheive 7.5-10k, more on a good day. People kill for an easy horse which they can go out and be sucessful on at the lower levels

I had about 8k in mind as I've jumped him over some fairly big courses at clinics etc and have been told by some knowledgeable folk (Stephen Hadley/Ian Starke) that he'd do Intermediate and 1.20s all day. (Not with me

Thanks for ur help

8-10k imo
i had a horse with huge ears but i didnt think they were ugly i thought they were adorable so sont tell people they are ugly because you never know they might be bonkers like me and love them!

Bring him, bring him, bring him - I will compete him for you

In all honesty I would sell him from here. As for pricing - well the big dun on my yard was sold subject to vet yesterday - was up for £9k and she accepted £8k. Has done ONE intro, on a ticket (came 5th) and other than that has done dressage (OK) and been hacked and fun ridden and it's SJ is careless, otherwise I would have bought him - oh he hunted for a season before she bought him - he is 7 BTW, 16.2hh and Irish.

He sounds like a great horse, just be aware if you aim at riding club level people to sell to , most wont have a budget of 8k... thats all you need to bear in mind! I think to fetch that much he certainly needs to have been placed at pre novice level.

Ah thanks guys........ however today I'm having a 'am not selling day, my life's not going to change at all'.

He was 10th in our 1st PN last year if that counts and as for the ears, well they are part of him i suppose.

I should keep him! Once you have had the baby, your interest just gets stronger with horses as its your release time lol! I have two young boys.
