Sorry, this is a bit of a long one!
Just looking for a few tips really.
I have to do a tear drop to a 20m half circle in counter canter on both reins at a competition at the weekend and I am really struggling. Horse is perfect on the left rein but the right is a little hit and miss, one minute she will do a perfect half circle in balance and the next moment she changes before we even get to the circle.
She can do loops until the cows come home and will pick up whatever lead I ask her to.
So after a disastrous session last night where it went from doing a perfect half circle on the first attempt and trying to run through the test for the first time to point blank refusing to do it at all on the right rein.
In the end I managed to get her to do it twice in a row and stopped straight away but only after 30 minutes of asking and doing other movements to try and settle her down. I am very upset and ashamed that I allowed myself to become so panicked and I can't believe I pushed it for so long last night and now I am worried I have done more damage than good.
So the more I think about it, the more I think it must be something I am doing. I have a lesson tomorrow night before I leave for the event but I was just hoping people could give me some tips on how I can try to stay relaxed, how I should be sitting and ways to keep her on the right leg.
