...... yes its true, I'm shocked and amazed and delighted as countryfile actually showed some great 1900's stag and fox hunting pictures and follows up with the Minehead Harriers. Actually well worth a watch.

Not just some dull drag hunt as usual.

Enjoy, well worth a watch

I saw it too. Had to take a business call, so couldn't hear the content, but looked very upbeat. Well done Countryfile, normally they run a 1000 miles before tackling hunting !!

Glad you posted, saved me doing it! was lovely to see the old places, timeless place and still the epicentre of hunting; used to be you could hunt with a different pack every day of the week down there and nearly everyone was involved in one way or another with country sports. I thought they covered it well and really worth catching it on iplayer if you can.

I thought it was great as well, lovely to see those old pictures. We spend quite a lot of time in Exford and follow on foot, we're just looking forward to moving down there in a few years' time and following on horse. A lovely part of the world.

It was good - I was surprised too - and also they did a good piece about Schmallenburg virus impacts - it was a much better standard of reporting and much less biased than it often is. Thumbs up- just hope it continues. Mind you I happened to be rereading Lorna Doone having not read it for about 25 years and they did kind of spoil the ending (which I had forgotten!) :-OO

I caught the episode about "horses and dogs" a couple of weeks back as well! Although there was few dogs (far more hounds) in the episode, I enjoyed it. Then the episode we're discussing here comes on in quick succession, I'm very pleased!

Also, until watching the horses and dogs (hounds) episode, which I'm aware is a compilation kind of thing from a few years worth of episodes, I wasn't aware of hunting the clean boot. If there are any bloodhound packs near manchester, Cheshire or lancashire, I'd love to be your quarry! It looked like so much fun.

The pictures taken were brilliant as well, this Alfred Vowles bloke must have been in shape! The picture of the hounds chasing the stag through the river was particularly eye catching
