I have been feeding my mare Spillers Cool Mix but i noticed in Countrywide that they had a (relatively) new range of horse feeds, namely a Light Mix and a Total Control mix which would all be in theory suitable for my mare. She is generally a good doer so needs a low calorie feed that is not heating. The Countrywide feeds are cheaper so I wondered if any one had any good or bad feedback about own brand feeds??

Thanks!

Laura

Have had their chaff but threw most of it away as it was choc full of sugar! I would check the little paper bits on the bag first before buying iiwy so you can see if you are getting value for money.

Ask them for a sample. Most stores have their autumn Equestrian Event coming up (Twyford, our local one is on 14th October), and usually will have a mountain of samples. Each sample is overstuck with ingredients and composition.

Yeah they were great! I used their chaff and stud cubes, so much cheaper. Remember alot of the own brands are made by baileys/doddson & horrell it just doesnt have their name and packaging on bag :)

I've used their pony nuts for a few years now, no complaints from my mare! She goes crazy for 'em, it's the only thing she's never got bored off.
They just had 'em on offer too, 2 bags for 9 quid I think, we bought a ton!
