hi,does anyboby know if i have to register my cob with a society to show at county level as would love to have a go next year with him

also you could do the search for a star if you are not proffessional. they run a cob class it is county standard but you will b up against other amatuers and judged by county level judges such as richard ramsey, if you win a class or come second you qualify for the champinship which takes place at the Horse of the Year Show. it is run by SEIB insurance company.

it depends on the horse and classes your entering., largely no they dont have to be registered. ie for hunter, coloureds, ridden horse.

but for arabs, welshes etc then yes they do.

to be eligible to quailfy for what ever the show is offering though you often need to be registered to that society..

ie for colourds, if you came in the top 2 to be permitted to qualify fo rthe bpsa show, then you would need to have your horse registered with the bpsa.

i hope that makes some kind of sence.

Yes he will need to be registered as others have said as a show cob.

If a coloured and you want to do the coloured classes then either BSPA if you want to do RIHS and CHAPS for HOYS, you can of course be registered with both.

Good luck and I hope you do as well as I did recently.

You may have to get hime measured by the JMB depending how old he is. Also for county you should have all vaccinations up to date as you could get asked for them when you arrive.at the show ground.

You are right - you must have passport with you showing jabs up to date, and if entering cob clasess you will need a height certificate unless you are doing the maxis or coloureds ex 153 in which case you don't need one.

If you are also doing qualifier classes you will need your card in your pocket to produce in the ring and often your membership card too.
