Has anyone ridden in one of these, or has anyone actually had one built as an arena or anything else for that matter?

I'm hearing some good reports about them, and would be interested in any comments from you, good or bad please. Many thanks.

When I first saw them I thought what a fab idea, bet they are cheap....well they're not at all, I think for the basic they're like £75,000

So for the money I'd much prefer to have a normal indoor.

Thanks everyone

They are certainly not cheap - I've been quoted £57K for the building and putting it up, and they suggest getting a local contractor in to do the groundwork. There are certainly planning advantages as they are a "greener" alternative to a traditional building.

What interests me most is the "ambience" inside them. The testimonials all say that they are a peaceful place to ride, the horses like the atmosphere, they are quiet, even in the wind and rain, and the light is amazing. The nearest Cover-all riding arena to me (there are several industrial buildings in Belfast) is the west coast of Scotland - a little far for just a look

- so I wondered if anyone had actually been inside one.

£57K for a 22x40, £86 for a 22x60 (not including groundwork or surface, obviously).

Planners are looking more favourably on them now because they are light on materials (just the framework and the fabric) so you create less of a carbon footprint in manufacturing them than you would with a traditional wood/steel/roofed building. Similarly they take less time to construct/less vehicle journeys etc etc.

They are also energy efficient as you don't need to light them as much as a trad indoor school - you don't get shadows inside and all long as there is daylight (we get really long daylight hours over here from March-Oct) you don't need artificial lighting.
