Cow scratchers .....?!

The thread about geese made me think .... If we can get one of these for cows ....why not horses!! Just think how much work it would save and the cows clearly love it .... Thoughts?

Looks great, brushes like a car wash. No doubt somewhere there is a horse wash and scrub, but what would it cost to install???

They are fantastic, the cows love them...although you have to be careful not accidentally lean on one otherwise you get a shock!

I'm in the process of making something similar for our cattle. Mine is much more lo-tech though

It's basically those really stiff doormats attached to some tubing on a roller. It's going to be horizontal at just below wither height with a very stiff spring between the support poles and the roller so they can scooch underneath and push it up slightly to scratch.

They had better like it as its been a real labour of love!

I just love the cows face in the picture!

I think you can get full body ones too....where they walk 'inside' it and them it covers the whole cow!

You can buy scratch patches that you nail to the stable wall. I bought some but never bothered to put them up
