Great news, brave horse!

Id have done the same and opted for the cow route. I was behind various cyclists on that road at the weekend and I was towing. Absolutely mental, they ride in groups then branch off individually then you come across more. ?

I don't mind riding *up* that hill (and usually do because it makes a nice loop to the yard) because the cyclists on my side of the road are also going uphill, and they're not moving that quick. It's *down* which is terrifying, because they zing downhill at 200mph.

Only hassle I've ever had going uphill was when a group of teenage lads on mountain bikes were going down it at a sensible pace (mountain bikes = not that fast) on their side of the road, and a middle-aged dude on a road bike was bombing downhill and crossed onto my side of the road to pass the lads. The lads shouted "horse!" and spread themselves out so the road biker could dive back in, but the guy determindly stuck to my side of the road instead of slowing down, got around all the mountain bikers, forced me to halt, and then veered back to his side of the road a few feet from me. The lads and I exchanged some commentary along the lines of "what a twat" as they rode by me.

If you ever box back to Mugdock, we should ride together.
