My horse had thrush but it had cleared up however he had a crack through is frog and heel. I've been told this can be common in thrush but im just wondering how can I get the heel to close ?

I'd keep it soft - regular applications of a good conditioner. As your vet/farrier what they'd recommend.

My mare had it and well its still clearing but not as bad as it was, this is what i done to clear it:
. got ride of the thrush
For the following 5 days:
. Washed with hibiscrub using cotton buds in the deep cracks, once clean pat dried
. Packed the crack by using cotton wool covered in sudocream (thrush must be gone before using sudocream though), i used 1-2 balls first of all now only use half
. Leave in overnight, following day did the same routine.
. After 5 days i stopped hibiscrubbing and just packed it.
My mares crack has almost gone now.
This was my method and it worked for me so fingers crossed!!

I packed the crack with LifeData hoof disinfectant soaked cotton wool. Worked for me.
