Cracked paws

I started Canicross with my dog 3 months ago, she's absolutely loving it but her paws are starting to crack.

I'm going to dial it back a bit and give them time to heal but is there anything else I can do to help? I'm going to start feeding her Salmon oil but thought I'd check on here if anyone's got any other suggestions?

You can get paw balm.

Mushers secret.

Other paw balms are available.

Never used one to know how good they are.

I think someone on here suggested biotin. Tawny’s feet used to crack terribly and it made a huge difference.
I also used to use either mushers secret or that green tub of human stuff, maybe ‘working man’s hands’? The creams only used to be put on just as I was getting out of the car so she could lick or wear it off.

We had never ending trouble with one we used for bikejor until I tried biotin and zinc, huge difference.

I use 1g of biotin powder (providing 2.5mg biotin) per dog per day, zinc 35mg per 10kg bodyweight

I'm a vet, so my wholesaler! I use a powder based horse biotin supplement (whatever is in stock!) and a dog supplement called Dermazyme Zinc.

I also realised I'd made an error in my original post - my powder is 2.5mg per gram! So the biotin dose is 2.5mg. I'll try edit my first post also
