my horses feet arnt looking great had the farrier a few weeks ago and he said they were fine, but in the last few weeks they have become more and more craked, its just they soles are like shedding i guess, but his foot has a bit of a hole where some of his sole has come of, is this anything to worry about?

Your horse sounds like he is trying to get ride of this top layer of sole. Its called exfoliation and its perfectly normal. Though it can highlight another issue. If you had pictures of his soles it would help i think.

Horses exfoliate the sole when there is another layer ready to go underneath. With a shod hoof its quite common, because with the shoe on, the sole cannot be exfoliated off on the ground surface. Does his feet smell? If so, maybe he has a bit of thrush or white line disease. You can soak the feet in milton solution or borax to help with that, if its an issue.
If you put up pics, it would be quite useful. Its hard to try to imagine what your looking at without seeing it.
