First thing-Got down the yard this morning to find my mare, who's due her foal in may, hopping on three legs. Got the vet out who gave me 3 possibles, bruising of her splint bone, fracture of the splint bone or an abcess over the splint bone.

So my poor girl is cross tied tonight with some bute and a big shot of antibiotics and we'll see in the morning how she is and possible xrays.

Second thing- I had had the vet out about a month ago for my old gelding (27yrs) and had him sedated to have a good look at his manly bits. I took pics whilst he was sedated and finally got to show them to the vet today. Looks like my old man had cancer. It won't make any difference as to how I look after him as he has various different health problems but still makes me sad.

And finally my third thing was my car wouldn't start to leave the yard.

So that's my three things. Enough is enough, if tomorrow doesn't go better I'm going back to bed and hide until Sunday.

Pointless post but what a day.

What a totally pants day for you and your neddies :(

Tea and sympathy and hoping your mare makes a speedy recovery. Sorry to hear about the old boy but all you can do is love him while you still have him. x x x x

As for the car well curse it and pack it off to the garage or threaten it with the car crusher :D

Thanks everyone, sometimes it just feels like what ever you do isn't quite enough. I'll stop feeling sorry for myself now :) and fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I've had my old man 16 years and he was my first horse but I'm sure he will still be a total git when I put him out tomorrow.

Well I got to the yard today to find it was an abcess and it was draining nicely on my girls leg, she's still hopping lame but seems brighter so going to give it another 24hrs and see how we go.

She still has heat and a puffy leg but let's hope that's it and no more serious damage underneath that. Fingers and toes crossed.
