I'm thinking of replacing Loki's current bed with a crate. He doesn't really use his bed all that much, he prefers to squish himself in somewhere dark, such as under my bed. The problem is he's just a little too large to do that now, so he ends up with his head wedged under the bed or TV etc.... and the rest of his donkey-sized self splayed out across the room. I don't really mind but it can be annoying when he tries to wedge his shoulders in too. He really can't grasp the concept that he's grown rather a lot over the months and that when he gets himself really wedged somebody (me) has to do him the favour of lifting heavy furniture. He also doesn't understand that when I lift the heavy bed I do so because has gotten himself stuck and is making a fuss. I'm not doing it so that he can then take advantage of the newly created space in order to crawl further under the bed
Hence, vague plans are being formulated to replace his bed with a crate, throw a blanket over it, and declare it his very own den (that being the very quick version lol).
Can anyone give me any advice regarding different brands/stores to look at in terms of how robust the crates are etc? Whether it matters very much if the tray is metal or plastic?
Feel free to point out that I'm being odd, and should leave him alone to squash his face into whatever dark place he chooses
