Drving down the M40 yesterday in the rain, spray and general gloom when we passed a woman in a Discovery towing a dark coloured horse trailer with NO LIGHTS ON! Everyone else was on main beam as the driving conditions were so horrendous. Further along, going south on the A34 we passed a man towing a dark Ifor trailer. Another crazy driver, I thought, driving with no lights and then I noticed that his car lights were on so his trailer's lights weren't working. I really hope he got to his destination before it became dark. As a fellow trailer owner, I have my lights on all the time, unless it's bright sunshine.

Or they didn't check. I have to fiddle with my electric attachment as it can look like it is in but you don't know till you test the lights, brakes and indicators..so no lights would suggest no indication either.

Gosh, my oh checked EVERYTHING before we were even allowed to load the horse! Tyres, electrics, hinges, you name it. I'm a wee bit worried now though as not moved it since March :/

I would say that the greater majority check everything that is reasonable possible to check before setting off because the greater majority would rather their horse is kept safe than chance having something happen to it through their own negligence or laziness

I reckon its just a weird coincidence that more than one numpty were spotted but I stand to be proven wrong ....
