I took my old girl to a show today and entered the veterans for a bit of fun. She has been retired for 2 years and as it wasn't really an ideal show to take my new youngster, I thought I'd take her along - well..... she was CRAZY!!
Bless her, screaming her head off and prancing around like a two year old (she's 29)
. When we finally got into the ring, she was jogging next to me (instead of walking) and well, when it came to trot, she skipped that and went straight into canter
. The individual show didn't go so well either! She got the gist of the walk, but again forgot there was a pace in between walk and canter!!
and then when she nearly took the photographer out I think that really clinched last place!!
(poor man! he was unscathed!! just a little shocked!) however, having said all this, she did won the Oldest Veteran rosette! Bless her - it really was quite funny! She was obviously feeling pretty good! I did apologise to the judge and she said, her forteen year old was just like her, so what hope did she have!!!
