When I pick up my horses feet sometimes his legs "crack" (my knees often make the same noise!) but it does make me worry about his joints and the possibility of arthritis and joint problems in the future (hes a 13 year old IDx).

I was told that micronised linseed was good for joints as well as other things so he now has a heaped mug a day. I was wondering if anyone thought this is an adequote preventative/maintenance joint supplement or if anyone used anything else.

I know you can get lots of powders and potions to feed but I dont want to overload him with stuff he may not need as he doesnt actually have any "symptoms" of joint issues accept the creaking..

Thank you

And yes I am a fluffy :D

Hi we have put our old mare on micronised linseed and rosehips, she used to crack her way round the field (she's about 36) now not a sound out of her. She has the recommended dose of each (it's from Feedmark) with a few handfulls of Spillers senior mix.
