Hi every one how has the credit crunch affected you and your horse? what have you had to cut back on? have you changed livery? having fewer lessons?

Hasn’t affected me luckily, but keeping the horses at my parent’s means I don’t have the livery costs. I wouldn’t give up my lessons unless I was really desperate as really enjoy them and feel we need them. I would rather compete less.

I haven't had a lesson since May 2008! Been to 2 or 3 shows in the last 6 months where I would normally get out 2 times a month or more. My horses are on economy mix (all of them) and cheap chop (but only seems to have meant my TB is a bit leaner, he definitely has as much energy!) and all back on straw beds as I refuse to be held to ransom for shavings!
I have changed from hay to haylage though to counteract the drop in the hard feed ration.
BTW mine are at home not livery!
