Hasnt affected me luckily, but keeping the horses at my parents means I dont have the livery costs. I wouldnt give up my lessons unless I was really desperate as really enjoy them and feel we need them. I would rather compete less.
I haven't had a lesson since May 2008! Been to 2 or 3 shows in the last 6 months where I would normally get out 2 times a month or more. My horses are on economy mix (all of them) and cheap chop (but only seems to have meant my TB is a bit leaner, he definitely has as much energy!) and all back on straw beds as I refuse to be held to ransom for shavings!
I have changed from hay to haylage though to counteract the drop in the hard feed ration.
BTW mine are at home not livery!
